Kentucky football has been one of the country's biggest 2026 stories, having won six straight games to get to 7-1 on the year, and ranked inside the top ten. This week, they're on a much-needed bye, though, leaving Wildcats fans with a stress free weekend of college football.
Around the rest of the SEC, the action is fairly limited. The marquee game will feature the Florida Gators taking on the Georgia Bulldogs. Ole Miss vs the Auburn Tigers could also be an intriguing matchup with playoff implications.
Looking at the biggest picture, several of the top-ranked teams will also be in action. Ohio State will be without their starting quarterback when they take on USC. Fourth-ranked Indiana will take on a good Minnesota team as well. Utah, ranked No. 6, will travel to take on a Cincinnati team that just beat Texas Tech last week.
So, who should Kentucky fans be watching and rooting for? Here's a look at some of the games that Big Blue Nation should be keeping an eye on during the bye.
This will be one of the biggest games of the day, and one of the few to feature two ranked teams. The Bulldogs are coming off of their own bye, and lost their last time out. A Georgia loss will have Kentucky in first place in the SEC all alone.
Root for: Florida
The Buckeyes would be heavily favored in this game, but they will be without starting quarterback Julian Sayin. A loss by Ohio State could allow Kentucky to move up, even on a bye week.
Root for: USC
If Kentucky can go at least 3-1 over their last four games, they'll finish 10-2. In that case, they will want to have less two-win teams to compete with or a playoff spot.
Root for: Auburn
Any team ranked in front of Kentucky is a team that Wildcats fans should be rooting against. Even though Kentucky and Indiana isn't a football rivalry, Big Blue Nation can always enjoy a Hoosiers loss.
Root for Minnesota
Similarly to Ole Miss, the Longhorns taking a third loss is a good thing or Kentucky. With Kamario Taylor out, it will be a tough one, but Texas has been inconsistent, so anything can happen.
