Shohei Ohtani’s game-worn Dodgers jersey from the 2025 MLB Tokyo Series opener sold for $2,055,700 USD through The Realest
It carries the first Gold MLB Logoman patch ever worn in an official Major League Baseball game, along with Ohtani’s kanji signature and personal inscriptions
The result clears the $1.792 million USD mark set by Aaron Judge’s 2016 MLB debut jersey
Shohei Ohtani’s game-worn Los Angeles Dodgers jersey from the 2025 MLB Tokyo Series has sold for $2,055,700 USD through authentication and auction platform The Realest, setting a new high for a baseball jersey worn this century. The figure eclipses the $1.792 million USD previously paid for Aaron Judge’s 2016 MLB debut jersey, cementing the Tokyo Series top as one of the most valuable pieces of modern baseball memorabilia on record.
Ohtani wore the jersey for the full Tokyo Series opener against the Chicago Cubs at the Tokyo Dome on March 18, 2025, his first-ever MLB game played in Japan. Its biggest selling point is a first for the sport, as the jersey features the debut of the Gold MLB Logoman patch in an official Major League Baseball game, a detail that instantly turned it into a one-of-one collectible.
The personalization pushes it further. Ohtani added a rare signature written in kanji, plus handwritten inscriptions marking the occasion, the date of the game and his National League MVP honors, layering his own record of the night directly onto the fabric.
“The greatest collectibles are the ones that capture moments that can never be recreated, and this jersey represents exactly that,” said Scott Keeney (DJ Skee), Founder and CEO of The Realest, in a press release.
Before going under the hammer, the jersey passed through The Realest Certified, the company’s authentication program for top-tier pieces. The process covers hands-on physical inspection, verification of provenance, a review of supporting documentation and assessment by industry specialists. The jersey also toured Asia as part of The Realest’s Gold Label Grails World Tour, with stops in Hong Kong, Macau, Tokyo and Taipei.
The sale caps a huge run for Ohtani memorabilia. Earlier this year, his 2026 World Baseball Classic jersey fetched $1,500,010 USD in March, then the Ohtani record for a jersey, while a one-of-one Dual Gold Logoman autograph card built with patches from his MVP seasons reportedly sold privately for $11 million USD. The Realest also handled Ohtani’s signed, game-used New Balance Ohtani 1 shoes from the same Tokyo Series opener, which sold for $440,055 USD in August 2026 and set the all-time public auction record for baseball footwear at nearly five times the previous high.
