India and West Indies shared the five-match T20I series 2-2 after the fifth match ended in a no result due to rain on Saturday, October 17. Here are the updated ICC T20I rankings.
It was an anticlimactic end to the high-scoring series as the Bengaluru weather played spoiler in the fifth and final T20 international. A nine-overs-a-side contest finally got underway after a two-hour rain delay, but another burst of rain meant it was curtains, 7.4 overs into India's innings.
India managed 118-5 on the back of Ishan Kishan’s 30 off 10 and Naman Dhir’s unbeaten 24 off six before the halt. Earlier, West Indies came back from behind twice to level the series, completing the second-highest T20I run-chase in the second game and winning the fourth game by 24 runs.
Six of the eight completed innings in the series witnessed scores of over 200. West Indies captain Shai Hope registered two centuries in this series and the joint-most (four) on the tour for any visiting batter.
Both India and West Indies retained their respective second and sixth places in the latest ICC men's T20I team rankings. However, India lost two rating points while West Indies gained one after the fifth match.
