RC Lens have been hit with a restriction from selling tickets to their supporters for their next two UEFA Champions League games, UEFA have announced. It means that Yannick Cahuzac’s Les Sang et Or won’t rely on fan support for their games at Leipzig’s Red Bull Arena (November 24) and at Liverpool’s Anfield (January 27). Lens fans lit flares and even threw some at Club Brugge supporters during last week’s 3-0 away defeat for Matchday 3 of the Champions League.

The Ligue 1 side was already on probabtion due to their fans lighting flares and fireworks for their Matchday 1 away win over Slavia Prague. RC Lens were also hit with a €80,000 fine for “lighting and throwing of pyrotechnics as well as for acts of damage.“

L’Equipe reports that Lens executives themselves, angered by the behaviour of the club’s fans, have decided to punish them by deciding not to sell tickets for Friday’s mouth-watering Derby du Nord at Lille’s Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
