Wrestling legend Ric Flair is pictured for the first time since being rushed to hospital following a fall outside a restaurant. The WWE hall of famer, 77, posted a selfie of his bruised face with an eye patch on show.
The Nature Boy – who collapsed on Friday, just hours after revealing he had a blood clot – thanked fans for their well-wishes and said: "I am focused on my healing and recovery right now. I will be okay!
"And just so you know for those who were asking and wondering, I don’t own my own Facebook page anymore. I apologize for the reckless posting behavior on my Facebook when I was in the hospital. It was completely inappropriate!"
The 16-time former world champion also thanked medics who looked after him, posting on social media: "Thank you all for the messages and prayers! I will get back to you each individually as i get stronger.
"Thank you to all the Tampa General Hospital staff and doctors that put up with me until 4:30am. I appreciate you all and thank you for everything you did for me!"
Worried fans said they were praying for the WCW legend, who was reportedly at a Wagamama when he got up from the bar, left his phone as well as drink behind and walked across the street before suddenly falling and injuring his face.
One wrote: "The shocking (and welcome) news is that Ric Flair is alive." Another said: "He ain’t got long left surely…?" A third said: "He looks so ill." Another fan said: "Bro’s one salt & vinegar crisp away from being finished off."
A fan asked: "Seriously, how is this guy not dead yet?" But one wag joked that he had the Grim Reaper "going Broadway", a wrestling term for a time limit draw.
The iconic grappler has suffered from a series of health issues in recent years, including being last year diagnosed with skin cancer. He beat the deadly disease for a second time in July 2025, but a life of excess has left him with issues.
He was recently forced to cancel an appearance at a fan convention in Seattle, Washington and revealed doctors ordered him not to board long flights after finding a blood clot. Flair was bleeding extensively and was feared to have suffered a concussion in his fall.
His daughter Charlotte, herself a 14-time WWE Women's Champion, revealed on X during his hospital stay that he told the doctor he fell because of the Ultimate Warrior dropping him on his head. She added: "He’s going to be ok."
