After not scoring over 24 points through the first three games of the season, Steph Curry caught fire on Wednesday night in Minnesota. The 38-year-old point guard looked in midseason form, torching the Minnesota Timberwolves for 44 points on 11-of-27 shooting from the field with six made 3-pointers.
Along with tallying a season-high 44 points, Curry added eight boards, six assists and two steals in 32 minutes. The Warriors needed each and every one of Curry's points on Wednesday night as they held on for a 119-114 win.
After controlling the game through three quaters, the Warriors took a 12 point lead heading into the fourth and final frame. After blowing a double-figure lead in the final minutes to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Warriors had to answer if they could closeout a potential victory.
While the Clippers flirted with a late comeback attempt, Curry and Yaxel Lendeborg combined for 17 of Golden State's 26 points in the fourth quarter to slam the door on the Timberwolves and secure a 119-114 win on Wednesday.
Following his first 31 point performance on Monday, Lendeborg picked up right he left off on Wednesday against the Timberwolves. The rookie notched 26 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field with nine boards and an assist in 35 minutes. Lendeborg did struggle with turnovers, leading the Warriors with seven turnovers in Minnesota.
Brandon Williams was the only other member of the Warriors to score in double-figures with 11 points off the bench in 14 minutes on Wednesday night.
The Warriors will get Thursday night off before returning home to the Bay Area on Friday for a contest against Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center.
