ESPN's "College GameDay" has announced where it plans to be in Week 9. GameDay will finally be attending a Big Ten campus with the show set to attend the Minnesota Gophers at No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers game on Saturday, Oct. 31.
"Get ready Bloomington!" GameDay said via social media. "We’re coming to your city to see the defending champ Hoosiers against the upset-minded Gophers."
GameDay snubbed the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs versus No. 20 Florida Gators game, which will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. It is understandable that GameDay wanted to attend a game on a college campus as opposed to a neutral site game. Not every fan agreed with GameDay's decision.
"Over a top 20 matchup in Atlanta?" One fan chimed in. "That's wild."
Other top Week 9 games that did not get selected include Texas Tech vs. Arizona, Utah vs. Cincinnati and Ohio State vs. USC. College football fans will be hoping for another upset-filled Week 9 after the past few weeks have added some chaos to the College Football Playoff picture.
GameDay has visited two Big 12 campuses and two Big Ten campuses this fall. GameDay has gone to five SEC campuses, which is by far the most frequent of any conference. GameDay still has not visited an ACC campus this season.
