Arsenal head into their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, looking to stamp some early authority on the competition. Mikel Arteta has a few injury concerns to contend with for the trip to Germany but has confirmed that Martin Zubimendi will be involved in the match,

Arteta will hope his squad depth will continue to pay dividends and extend their winning run to four matches against the German giants. The Spaniard is excited by the prospect.

"This is the stage, this is the kind of team, this is the kind of coach, this is the kind of club, the stadium that you want to be involved in," he said. "So we have prepared the game with loads of enthusiasm. I'm really thrilled to come here and play tomorrow."

Martin Zubimendi

The midfielder returned to the bench against Nottingham Forest at the weekend but did not make it onto the pitch. Arteta has confirmed he will be involved against Bayern Munich.

The Spaniard suffered an ankle issue in a 'freak accident' with Mikel Merino. Zubimendi's teammate described him as a 'bull' who 'recovers quickly'.

William Saliba

The wait for William Saliba's return continues. Things appear to be trending in the right direction for the Frenchman to return towards the end of next month.

Speaking last week, Arteta said: "I think next week we have another MRI with him to see how the healing process is at the moment. But every sign so far has been very, very positive, and yeah, it will be great to have him."

The defender was present on the training pitch on Tuesday but the clash with Bayern Munich remains to soon for his return. Arteta is hopeful that the Ecuador star could be available to face Everton at the weekend however.

"And Piero, let's see," he said. "if he's able to train in the next few days as well, he can be available for Everton, which would be great news."

Christos Tzolis

Summer signing Christos Tzolis also remains out, despite the positive news concerning his injury. The Greek winger is progressing well and likely back next month.

“He’s doing really well,” Arteat said ahead of Nottingham Forest. “Yesterday he had another MRI scan to see how the injury is evolving. It's progressing really well, so he’s another one who hopefully we can have back in a few weeks.”

Potential return date: 01/11/26
