Jacksonville Jaguars studs and duds at the bye week

With the bye week in full swing for the Jacksonville Jaguars, let's take a look back at some of the standout performers through the first six games of the season.

Here are three players who have stood out, and two players/areas where the Jaguars will need more second-half production.

Stud: WR Parker Washington

Parker Washington ended the 2025 season red-hot, and he picked up this year right where he left off. Washington has continued to be a go-to target for Trevor Lawrence and a big-play threat for the Jaguars offense. Through six games, he's caught 26 passes for 416 yards with four touchdowns. Of those catches, 15 have gone for first downs.

Dud: WR Brian Thomas Jr.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to figure out where Thomas Jr. fits in this Jaguars' offense. His playing time and opportunities have been decreasing, including playing only 15 snaps against Houston. Thomas Jr. has caught just 9 of 18 passes this season for 105 yards and a score. He has no catches over the last two games.

Stud: RB Bhayshul Tuten

Having a steady run game to lean on is a key element of the Liam Coen offense, and even with imperfect blocking around him, Tuten has often provided that. On 94 carries, Tuten has totaled 388 rushing yards at 4.1 yards per rush with two scores. He's been terrific at making defenders miss, averaging 3.62 yards after contact, while generating 25 missed tackles. Tuten has been a factor in the pass game as well.

Dud: Defense needs more sacks

It's hard to nitpick the defensive performance, but creating more sacks is one area where this unit can really improve. On the season, the Jaguars have just 11 sacks through six games, which ranks tied for 20th in the NFL. The Jaguars are giving themselves opportunities, totaling the 10th-most QB pressures, but are failing to convert those plays into sacks at a similar rate.

Stud: CB/WR Travis Hunter

We are starting to see the emergence of Travis Hunter on both sides of the ball. On defense has handled a full workload, allowing 16 receptions on 26 targets, with very good ball production, totaling two end zone interceptions and three pass breakups. Quarterbacks have a passer rating of 58.8 when targeting him. On offense, Hunter's role has remained small, but he was a big factor against Houston, with four receptions in nine plays, which included scoring a touchdown.
