FOLLOWING the disorder by a section of Hibs supporters after last weekend’s defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice, the club have banned the Ultras group known as Block Seven from attending the next three games.
Police Scotland made two arrests, and the Hibs players were verbally abused due to the on-field performance.
Hibs face Falkirk then Celtic at home before travelling to Paisley to play St Mirren.
The club’s investigation into the incident is ongoing and further action may be taken.
A statement on the club website reads “Following initial investigations, Hibernian Football Club can confirm that the Block Seven supporter group has been banned from our next three fixtures – against Falkirk and Celtic at Easter Road and away to St Mirren – after incidents that occurred after our William Hill Premiership fixture away to Dundee United on Saturday 10 October.
“The Club has discussed this sanction with the SPFL. This three-match sanction follows a one-match ban issued as a result of an incident occurring earlier this season.
“The Club’s investigation into the events at Tannadice is ongoing, and we will continue to work with supporters, Police Scotland and Dundee United FC. Further action, including additional sanctions on an individual and/or collective basis, will be considered once that process is complete.
“The safety and wellbeing of every supporter who attends our matches is a top priority for the Football Club. No one should feel unsafe or uncomfortable when supporting Hibernian, and behaviour that puts others at risk is unacceptable.
“We thank our supporters for their continued backing and want to reassure them that the Club will continue to address unacceptable conduct so as to not undermine the experience of the wider Hibs support.”
