Chievo Verona 1-2 Milan Futuro: Bonomi nets late winner as Rossoneri prevail against 10 men

Milan Futuro secured a big three points on Sunday afternoon as they struck with five minutes left to beat Chievo Verona.

The Futuro were unable to build on their positive start to the season as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Rovato last weekend. That meant there was a need to bounce back against a Chievo side who were second in the league going into the game (and remain there now).

In the first half, Sergio Navarro’s side took the lead in the 26th minute thanks to Asanji. It was a beautiful finish too, as the forward managed to find the far bottom corner with a lovely back heel.

Chievo equalised in the 36th minute thanks to a goal from Anthony Minessi, so the teams went in level at the break, but in the second half the home side were reduced to ten men as Hate Bane was sent off.

Milan capitalised on their numerical superiority in the closing stages after applying plenty of pressure when Alessandro Bonomi scored the winner in the 85th minute, sparking jubilant celebrations.

The result means that Milan Futuro are in seventh with 12 points from their six games. They have a couple of games in hand on a lot of the teams above them though, including Chievo who remain stuck on 16 points.
