Man Utd transfer target Junior Kroupi has signalled his interest in leaving Bournemouth.
The Red Devils are among a host of teams pursuing the young Frenchman, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona also in the mix.
Asked by DAZN France (quotes via Sport) about his future, Kroupi said:
“I’m going to give everything to play for the biggest clubs in the world, in the best championships in the world…”
Kroupi did qualify his comments somewhat, though, by stating that he is committed to his current club:
“At Bournemouth, I am going to give everything for the fans and to help the team to perform.”
Following the 20-year-old’s return to fitness after recovering from a foot injury, there is plenty of speculation that he could leave Bournemouth during the January transfer window.
As things stand, it is believed that the Cherries would be reluctant to offload Kroupi, but there are suggestions that a bid in the region of €100m (£83.5m) could tempt them into selling.
Benjamin Sesko’s recent injury setback combined with the likelihood of Joshua Zirkzee leaving Old Trafford early in the New Year means that Director of Football Jason Wilcox could be in the market for a striker.
Kroupi perfectly fits the profile that the club are looking for. He is already Premier League-proven, having broken the record for the most goals scored by a teenager in a single season. He also doesn’t turn 21 until June.
Of course, it may still be a long shot to secure his signature. Not only is the valuation steep, but the competition for his services means he may favour a move elsewhere.
