In a game many expected to come down to the wire, Randle's (TX) final home game of the regular season against Angleton (TX) lived up to the hype.
Between a pair of unbeaten teams, it was the team with the five-star Texas running commit that came out on top as Randle senior and ALL-USA selection Landen Williams-Callis scored the go-ahead 75-yard touchdown with a minute remaining to secure the 29-22 win.
The touchdown run came on Randle's first offensive play after Angleton had just scored to tie the game at 22 late in the quarter.
It was another monster night for the future Longhorn who carried the ball 28 times for 275 yards and scored three of the Lions' four touchdowns on the night.
With that performance, it's the eighth time that Williams-Callis has rushed for 200 or more yards this year and fourth time on the year where he had 250 or more yards. He's scored three or more touchdowns in all but two games this season.
He also continues to inch closer and closer to the 10,000-yard career mark, a milestone only four other players in state history have ever touched. On the year, he's rushed for 2,270 yards and 33 touchdowns putting him at 9,764 yards and 157 rushing touchdowns for his career.
Earlier this season he set a new Houston-area career touchdown record when he broke the previous record of 136 held by his older cousin and former Oregon State standout Jaquizz Rodgers.
Williams-Callis and the Lions, the No. 6 team in the Super 15 Southwest rankings and No. 5 team in the Texas Super 10 rankings, close out the regular season next Friday on Nov. 6 on the road at Friendswood. He needs 236 yards in that game to hit 10,000 career rushing yards.
