The Reds' legend was back at his old stomping ground to watch his former club in action last Tuesday, although Phil Parkinson's side suffered a 2-1 Championship defeat against West Brom who came from behind to secure victory.
But there was certainly plenty to celebrate during Mullin's time in north Wales.
The 31-year-old joined from Cambridge United in the summer of 2021 and was a back-to-back-to-back promotion winner, and club-record three-time consecutive Player of the Season, with 110 goals in 172 appearances to his name, before leaving the club in June following the mutual termination of his contract.
On his return to Wrexham, Mullin reflected on the unforgettable moments he enjoyed in a red shirt, with the 3-1 dramatic National League promotion-clinching win over Boreham Wood, when he scored twice, standing out above all others.
He told the club: "It's good (to be back at The Racecourse), it's a place I've got many a fond memory, so to come back is really good.
"I've got too many (favourite memories) to name but obviously the Boreham Wood game and seeing the emotion on people's faces after it.
"To be able to give them that joy of something they've really wished for for a long time was probably the one that will never be beaten."
Mullin was speaking in front of the Kop Stand which is being redeveloped and is scheduled to be fully operational by the start of next season.
The new stand will have 7,500 seats to take the ground's capacity to more than 18,000.
"I can't wait to come to a game when it's full with all the fans in," added Mullin.
"It's obviously something that's been talked about for a long time but to now see it up and very nearly in action is great."
After leaving Wrexham, Mullin signed for League Two outfit Rotherham on a two-year deal and he has netted five goals in 11 League Two appearances for the Millers.
Although he has scored a goal virtually every other league game, Alex Bruce's side are second bottom in the table win only two wins and 10 points from 11 outings.
Mullin says he would trade his goals for points as Rotherham aim to climb away from the relegation zone.
"I want to win more games," he told the Rotherham Advertiser.
"It's not about how many goals I've got. I'd rather we had more points on the board than me have an average goal record up to now."
