Jaxon Smith-Njigba put forth another big performance in Week 6 that saw him recognized among the best performers in the league for the week.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba earned a spot on Pro Football Focus’ Team of the Week for Week 6 after delivering another standout performance against the Denver Broncos.
Smith-Njigba caught 12 passes on 16 targets for 134 yards in Seattle’s 17-14 overtime loss to Denver. The performance helped Smith-Njigba maintain his position as the NFL’s receiving yards leader. Through six games, he has recorded 717 yards, and has a sizable lead over the league’s other most productive receivers.
The veteran Smith-Njigba was selected over a host of other wide receivers who put forth big performances in Week 6, including Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden, who recorded 104 REC yards and a REC TD against the Dallas Cowboys, and New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr., who recorded 103 REC yards and a REC TD against the Patriots.
Smith-Njigba also extended his remarkable run of 100-yard receiving performances to begin the season. He has recorded at least 100 receiving yards in five of his first six games played this season. His continued production has him on a historic pace as Seattle moves toward the second half of the season.
