Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter says he is not fazed by the club's difficult start to the season.
The beaten Prem finalists from June lost 20-7 at Bristol on Saturday to slip to second from bottom in the Prem after four matches.
Exeter's only win so far is a bonus point victory over Newcastle earlier this month, having lost at home to Gloucester on the opening weekend of the season and an away defeat at Bath.
"The only odd result we've had in the league so far, if you compare it to the last season, was losing to Gloucester, and Gloucester clearly are going to beat people this season," Baxter told BBC Radio Devon.
"We lost that first game of the season, but we picked up a point. We've been to Bath and picked up two points, which is what we did last season.
"We beat Newcastle at home with five points, what we did last season [and] we didn't beat Bristol last season at Bristol.
"The season's not hugely different, it just looks like it and feels like it."
Exeter's final game before the break for the autumn international is at home against bottom of the table Harlequins.
The London side got their first win of the season on Sunday to close the gap on Exeter to one point.
"I've got to make sure I get the lads feeling some reality about where we are," added Baxter.
"Despite [that] people can look and go, 'Ah this isn't right', a lot of things are right, we've just got to stick to it.
"Harlequins becomes big because we beat Harlequins at home last season, so we've got to beat them at home this season, that's how we've got to do it."
