No. 17 Texas A&M volleyball returns to Reed Arena on Friday night for another top-20 SEC showdown against No. 6 Tennessee as the Aggies look to extend their three-match winning streak.
Texas A&M enters the matchup 13-8 overall and 6-3 in SEC play following an impressive three-set sweep of then-No. 4 Kentucky on Sunday. The Aggies defeated the Wildcats 25-20, 25-23, and 25-21, snapping Kentucky's 30-match home winning streak and securing their second win over a top-five opponent this season.
Kyndal Stowers led Texas A&M with 16 kills and 10 digs against Kentucky, recording her fifth consecutive double-double. Eliza Sharp added seven blocks, while Natalie Ring contributed 12 kills and freshman libero Gabi Rodriguez finished with 12 digs.
Stowers and Sharp were subsequently named the SEC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, following their performances against Georgia and Kentucky.
Tennessee enters Friday's contest ranked sixth nationally with a 16-3 overall record and a 7-2 mark in SEC play. The Lady Vols have won seven consecutive matches, including recent victories over Kentucky and Vanderbilt. The matchup also features two teams with postseason ambitions. Texas A&M has won nine of its 11 home matches this season, while Tennessee leads the nation with 14.48 kills per set.
The Aggies trail 14-13 in the all-time series but won last season's meeting in Knoxville in four sets.
Friday's matchup will stream live on SEC Network+, giving fans an opportunity to watch two nationally ranked SEC programs compete in College Station.
Texas A&M does not release an official volleyball injury report. Eliza Sharp, Kaia Castle and Addi Applegate have returned to competition after missing time earlier in the season.
No new absences have been publicly confirmed ahead of Friday's matchup. Any changes to the Aggies' lineup will become clearer closer to first serve.
