Farès Ghedjemis has addressed his summer transfer situation after Celtic and Rangers were both linked with moves for the Frosinone winger.
Celtic had long-standing interest in the 24-year-old, having tried to sign him in January before the player opted to stay in Italy and help Frosinone push for promotion.
The Hoops then returned to the picture during the summer window, while Rangers were also credited with interest as the player’s future became one of the more intriguing transfer stories involving both Glasgow clubs.

In the end, no move happened.
Frosinone’s valuation rose sharply after promotion, with reports in Italy and Scotland making it clear the Serie A side were not under the same pressure to sell.
Speaking to Italian media ahead of Friday night’s clash with Sassuolo, via the Daily Record, he said: “The summer transfer window? It’s over.
“I had my own ambition, but I spoke to the club, and they presented me with their new ambition of becoming a major club. I’m happy to have stayed and signed a new contract. Now I want to do well.”
Ghedjemis was one of the more interesting wide options looked at across the year.
Martin O’Neill had previously confirmed the club’s interest was strong, but the situation became more difficult once Frosinone made it clear they wanted a major fee.
Celtic eventually moved on and brought in other attacking options, with Haissem Hassan among those added to the squad.
The Ghedjemis case is another reminder of how quickly a deal can change once a selling club’s position shifts.
In January, Celtic looked to have a real chance of landing him.
By the summer, the price had moved into a different bracket and Frosinone were in a stronger position.
His comments do not name either Glasgow club directly, but they do explain why the move never developed.
Ghedjemis had ambitions beyond Frosinone, but after talks with the club, he has bought into their own plan and committed his future there.
For Celtic, it is a transfer move that now looks closed for the foreseeable future.
