Josh Inglis created history on day three of the Cape Town Test against South Africa, becoming the first Australia player to score multiple hundreds in all three formats. His excellent 102 at Newlands is his second Test century to go with two each in T20Is and ODIs as well.
Inglis batted beautifully at number five. His took his time early with he and Alex Carey new to the middle. His footwork was excellent against spin, accessing both sides of the wicket thanks to excellent sweeping and use of the depth of the crease.
Inglis is among five Australian men’s players to score a hundred in all three formats. Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh are the other four to achieve the feat.
However, Inglis is the first to have multiple hundreds in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He made a century on Test debut against Sri Lanka in early 2025 and brought up his second ton in just his sixth Test. The keeper-batsman hit his first two ODI hundreds against England and Zimbabwe. His T20I tons have come against Scotland and India.
Watson, Warner and Marsh have each hit a single century in T20Is. Maxwell struck a solitary Test hundred.
