During the summer, Tottenham Hotspur oversaw as extensive a rebuild in a bid to bounce back from the disastrous 2025/26 season, with 10 new players arriving through the door and even more exiting.
One of the positions they strengthened was the attack, with Savio, Omar Marmoush and Mykhailo Mudryk becoming a part of Roberto De Zerbi’s roster. Many expected Savio and Marmoush to regularly start alongside each other in Spurs’ attack. Neither player have made a goal contribution in the Premier League thus far.
Spurs’ goalscoring woes continued in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United. This is something the Italian coach needs to fix very quickly, because if performances and results don’t improve, then his job will be in serious danger.
Recent reports have linked Real Betis striker Troy Parrott with a return to Spurs. The 24-year-old joined Real Betis in a £17.1million deal from AZ Alkmaar during the summer transfer window that netted Tottenham around £3.4million.
The Republic of Ireland international already has two goals and an assist to his name for the La Liga side, which includes scoring the winner against Real Madrid in September. Troy Parrott’s form with Real Betis and during the past international break has also put several clubs across Europe on red alert.
Manchester United have reportedly been keeping tabs on the Real Betis striker. They have been scouting the Irishman this season and have been impressed with him. However, both Spurs and Man United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the player.
According to Spanish journalist Christian Vaquero on X, Real Betis will not sell Parrott in January. The centre-forward has a €100 million release clause in his contract.
🚨❌ No hay nada sobre Troy Parrott y Manchester United/Tottenham de cara al mercado invernal pese a los rumores.

El Real Betis NO lo venderá en enero y los clubes ingleses sí podrían interesarse de cara a verano 2027.

The 24-year-old signed a five-year deal when he joined Betis in the summer, so the La Liga club are under no pressure at all to sell him. Manuel Pellegrini’s club have protected itself by inserting a €100 million release clause in his contract, and it will want any of the interested clubs to pay that fee if they want his services.
Parrott is also understood to be happy with life at the Benito Villamarín and is unlikely to push for a move in the winter transfer window. From Tottenham’s perspective, the club chiefs must continue to monitor the Republic of Ireland star’s performances.
