Antonio Conte explaining his ruthless approach to dealing with players with bad attitudes is going viral

A clip of Antonio Conte discussing his no-nonsense approach to players with bad attitudes is going viral as he continues to be linked with the Manchester United job.

It has been an underwhelming start to the season for United, who are winless in seven consecutive games for the first time since a run of eight matches between November and December 2015.

As a result, head coach Michael Carrick is under a significant amount of pressure, especially after his side suffered what was a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Como on Wednesday night.

Since United's latest defeat in the Champions League, a number of high-profile names are being linked with the United job, including former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.

In fact, Conte is believed to have held informal talks with United chiefs following the game in Como, where he outlined two conditions for taking charge of the club. Conte has since denied those claims in a statement released on Friday afternoon.

Antonio Conte on how he deals with players who have a bad attitude

In many ways, Conte is the polar opposite of Carrick, who has often displayed a cool, calm and collected demeanour on the touchline since taking charge at Old Trafford.

Conte, meanwhile, is renowned for being far more animated and can often be seen barking orders at his players. "I am always trying to keep the tension high for the players," he once said in an interview with GQ.

The Italian is equally uncompromising when it comes to his man-management style. Speaking in an interview with Thierry Henry in 2016, he touched on dealing with players who display a poor attitude.

After expressing his admiration for Conte's belief that nobody is "above the team", Henry asked the former Chelsea boss when he first realised the importance of taking such a strict approach.

He replied: "From my experience as a footballer, I think this is the right way to manage a changing room. I think that when I start a season, I speak with my players and I always talk about education and respect.

"And I demand this, but I give this. And if someone does not have a good attitude during the training session, or good behaviour in a different circumstances, I prefer to kill him than have 22 players.

"Because I repeat, from my experience as a footballer, if a manager closes his eyes, he does not want to see the bad situation and he loses the changing room."

Conte would walk into a somewhat broken dressing room if he does take the United job. Lisandro Martinez recently called out the club's hierarchy, and Bruno Fernandes publicly criticised Carrick's tactical decisions against Como.
