Now, it begins.
It's time for the Milwaukee Brewers to finally pop the top on Major League Baseball's ultimate Octoberfest.
The 2026 World Series is here.
After winning seven of eight playoff games – including a sweep of the two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers – the Brewers face the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 on Friday, Oct. 23, and are favorites to win their first World Series title in franchise history.
It's a Fall Classic tailgate party that Brewers fans have been waiting to throw for 44 years.
Likely National League Cy Young Award winner Jacob Misiorowski will take the mound against Nick Martinez. Misiorowski had a 1.80 ERA in the regular season and led the league with 252 strikeouts (13 per nine innings) and a 0.80 WHIP.
He hasn't been as dominant in the playoffs, though. The Brewers have won both his starts, but he has a 3.24 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP.
However, 78% of the fastballs he threw in those starts were over 100 mph. Misiorowski last pitched Oct. 11 so expect plenty of triple-digit pitches.
Those who chose not to pay thousands of dollars for Bob Uecker seats at American Family Field will be watching the game on Fox.
The entire World Series between the Brewers and the Rays will be televised on Fox and streamed on the Fox Sports and Fox One apps. Fubo also has a free offer for new subscribers.
Joe Davis (play-by-play), John Smoltz (analyst), Tom Verducci (sideline reporter) and Ken Rosenthal (sideline reporter) will call the game from American Family Field.
