LOOK: Bears' injured safety Coby Bryant walking without crutches

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, and there was an encouraging site during pregame as safety Coby Bryant was spotted walking the sideline.

Bryant made the trip to Atlanta for the game, as shared by FOX Chicago's Devan Kane, and was spotted walking without crutches during pregame warm-ups. It's an encouraging sign for the veteran free-agent addition, who suffered a knee injury during training camp that required surgery and delayed his Bears debut.

Bryant was expected to miss four to six months, putting his estimated return around early December, which would be big as Chicago looks to make a playoff push down the stretch. It's certainly an encouraging sign to see Bryant already back with the team and walking, without a noticeable limp, as he makes his way back from injury.

Bryant suffered his injury back on Aug. 3 during a 1-on-1 rep in training camp against tight end Cole Kmet, when he landed awkwardly and was holding his left knee. According to the media, Bryant tried to walk off on his own power, but he eventually carted off the field.

With Bryant sidelined, first-round rookie Dillon Thieneman has been the team's top safety, and arguably their best defensive player through the first five weeks of the season. Cam Lewis and the recently-released Xavier Woods have filled Bryant's spot opposite Thieneman.
