Sunderland were held to a 0-0 draw against Leeds United at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
For the Black Cats, it halts their league run of four consecutive defeats, but the point sees them remain bottom of the table, on five points.
For Leeds, it continues their impressive run of form under Daniel Farke, which has seen them only lose once so far this season.
The result sees them jump into seventh, but they could have been in fifth with a victory.
Brian Brobbey, making his return from injury, saw his deflected shot, which bounced up off the grass, pushed wide for a corner by James Trafford after just eight minutes.
On 26 minutes, the former Ajax striker nearly was able to punish a poor Leads back pass, but Englishman Trafford was able to smother his low, driven shot.
Knowing their team needed a pick-up after four straight league defeats, the home crowd did their best to help their side out, but nerves amongst the team remained.
Captain Granit Xhaka endured a difficult first half, misplacing many passes which saw Leeds get a respite from defending after the hosts had started to build up pressure.
Just like last week, Regis Le Bris' side struggled to deal with straight, long balls forward by their opponents, with a few last-ditch tackles from Luke O'Nien stopping Dominic Calvert-Lewin from going clean through on goal.
Another long ball pumped forward by Leeds was not dealt with successfully by the hosts, with Nordi Mukiele and O'Nien clashing.
The former injured his throat, courtesy of the latter's flailing arm, which led to Omar Alderete replacing the Frenchman on 52 minutes.
Leeds tried to take advantage, but they were only able to seriously test Robin Roefs once in the opening 15 minutes of the half, when Tarik Muhremovic's header was aimed straight at Sunderland's goalkeeper.
With 14 minutes of normal time to go, Ao Tanaka's shot straight at Roefs caused panic amongst the home defence when their goalkeeper could not hold onto the shot.
Calvert-Lewin reacted fastest in white, as he and Sunderland's goalkeeper duelled for the ball, but Video Assistant Referee Craig Pawson did not see enough contact to overturn Stuart Atwell's decision.
It was not Leeds' final chance, with ex-Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff and Noah Okafor having chances in injury time, but the hosts kept the ball out.
Sunderland's intense season continues on Wednesday evening, when Brentford are welcomed to the Stadium of Light for Carabao Cup action.
Leeds' next game is against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, while the Black Cats face Coventry City on the same day in the Premier League.
