Haff a few quid on Agenda to land a blow at Keeneland

Aidan O'Brien has won the last four renewals of the Juvenile Turf

AHEAD of the nine Grade One contests at Keeneland on Saturday, Friday’s card features five juvenile Grade Ones, with a couple of ante-post opportunities worth considering.

In the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf (8.15pm), Sun Goddess looks sure to start a short-priced favourite.

Aside from her defeat at Royal Ascot, she has carried all before her this season and will be a banker for many across the two days.

She is the likeliest winner, for all her draw isn’t ideal, but I can take her on at her current price.

DOMESTIC AGENDA looks the strongest of the home challengers for Chad Brown and appeals as a good each-way bet at 12/1.

The American Pharoah filly is unbeaten in two starts and particularly impressed when landing a Grade Two at Belmont Park last time.

Held up that day, she produced an impressive turn of foot to settle the race when into the straight.

She’ll need to improve again to trouble the favourite, but further progress looks likely.

The final Grade One on Friday is the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (9.35pm), where Aidan O’Brien has an outstanding record, winning the last four renewals.

He fields four runners, with Great Barrier Reef seemingly the pick, but a wide draw in stall 14 makes him opposable.

Instead, I’ll side with stablemate HAFFNER, who has a much kinder draw in stall four.

His best performances have come on fast ground, including victories at York and Newmarket, and his inside berth should enable Christophe Soumillon to secure a far better position in running.

If he can settle into his stride before unleashing his challenge down the straight, he looks capable of going very close, and at 7/1, he is a rock-solid each-way bet.
