The BCCI's Junior Cricket Committee, chaired by Parvinder Awana, announced India's squad for the ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup on October 30, 2026. Lakshya Raichandani will lead the side, with Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan named as vice-captain. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman, from November 5 to November 14, 2026.
Two notable inclusions in the squad are Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid. Both players earned their places on the back of strong performances in domestic youth cricket. The squad also features Vineeth, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Rajat Baghel, Yashveer, Aryan Savsani, Mohit Ulva, Kavya Patel, Shavin Vinod and Ishan Sood, among others.
India have been placed in Group A alongside Nepal, Pakistan and UAE. Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on November 12, 2026, with the final set for November 14, 2026.
India open their campaign against Nepal on November 6 at OCC Turf 1 in Muscat. Their second group match is against Pakistan on November 8, also at OCC Turf 1. India then face UAE on November 10 at OCC Turf 2 in Muscat. All three fixtures are part of the Group A league stage, with the top two sides from the group progressing to the knockout rounds.
Aaryavir Sehwag caught the selectors' attention with a knock of 173 off 143 balls for Delhi against Chandigarh in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, underlining his credentials as a top-order batter at the youth level.
Anvay Dravid has been equally impressive across formats. He accumulated 358 runs in five innings for Karnataka in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, a tally that included one fifty and two centuries. The wicketkeeper-batter had also shown his quality in international youth cricket earlier, scoring 87 off 67 balls against Sri Lanka Youth in an ODI at Hambantota in July 2026. Ishan Sood added another dimension to the squad's bowling options, having claimed 13 wickets in eight matches in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at an average of 23.
