Newcastle already have plenty to chew over before January, with possible arrivals from AC Milan and a big decision over Joe Willock keeping the transfer talk ticking over.

Matthias Jaissle is still putting his stamp on the squad, and the latest reports suggest there could be movement in defence and midfield when the window opens.

Fikayo Tomori remains one name to watch, and TEAMtalk's Graeme Bailey reports that Newcastle have made enquiries about both the England defender and his Milan teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Both players are approaching the end of their contracts, giving Milan a reason to listen to winter offers rather than risk watching them walk away for nothing.

Bailey also says the pair would welcome a Premier League return, and that presents Newcastle with an opportunity, although interest from other clubs means they will have company if they decide to act.

Brighton's Yasin Ayari is another reported target, but that looks a tougher deal to pull off.

That would leave Jaissle looking elsewhere for midfield reinforcements, with Willock's position adding another twist to the planning.

Newcastle could listen to January offers for Willock because talks over a new deal have proved difficult, as per some reports, and Besiktas are said to be ready to revive their interest.

Willock's contract expires at the end of the season, so Newcastle must weigh up the benefit of keeping him against the prospect of receiving a transfer fee.

There has already been a confirmed arrival behind the scenes, with Tomas Amaral arriving as Newcastle's head of first team recruitment, joining after his spell as Spartak Moscow's sporting director.

He will oversee first team scouting, and a recent trip to Poland has brought another potential signing into the picture.

TEAMtalk reports that Newcastle sent scouts to watch Jakub Krzyzanowski during Wisla Krakow's meeting with Rakow Czestochowa.

The left back, 20, is attracting attention beyond Poland, and the outlet's sources expect an offer to arrive in January as clubs weigh up their next moves.

Newcastle are still assessing him, with their interest at an early stage. Augsburg have already tried their luck, submitting a summer bid that Wisla turned down.

There could be a way to get business done without immediately taking Krzyzanowski away from his current club. One possibility outlined by TEAMtalk is a January agreement followed by a loan back to Wisla for the remainder of the season.

Wisla have protected themselves, though, as Krzyzanowski signed a new contract in September that runs until June 2030, leaving them well placed to negotiate.

He came through their academy and spent the 24/25 campaign on loan with Torino, playing in the Italian club's Primavera youth competition before returning to Krakow.

The youngster would offer Newcastle another natural left back alongside Lewis Hall if signed.

Krzyzanowski's development has brought him to Newcastle's attention, although moving to English football would represent another sizeable test for him.

Newcastle will have to judge their moment carefully, with other clubs watching and Wisla under no pressure to sell, this is a pursuit that could require patience in January.
