Jordan Henderson spoke to the TV cameras after Chelsea’s win over Everton yesterday, and gave some interesting thoughts on the game:
“I really liked the performance, I thought defensively we looked solid,” Henderson said.
“Overall, a good day. We wanted to back last week up by coming here and putting on a performance and getting a win, which we did. I feel as though in the last couple of weeks we’re going in the direction. Clean sheets are always important, and I know we haven’t had enough of them for a while. So to get one is nice… we didn’t give them many chances at all… we controlled the game well.”
The midfielder was brought in not only to help the team on the pitch, but also to help create a strong team spirit off it, and he claims he sees that developing. He admitted that he also loved playing with some of the amazing talents in this squad, when it seemed like his top level career was over:
“I’m loving playing football at the minute… it’s an absolute privilege and honour to be playing with some of the players in this team… I’m just enjoying working with them every day and playing with them out on the pitch. There’s some top quality talent. I feel the team is starting to take shape in terms of the togetherness.”
