Sky Sports were forced to delay an interview with Isack Hadjar in the aftermath of the US Grand Prix as a result of the "very emotional" Red Bull driver's frustrations. The 22-year-old could only muster a P6 finish at the Circuit of the Americas, before ripping into his team in the aftermath.
And Sky Sports F1's Simon Lazenby and Jenson Button confirmed that they had to delay showing his post-race interview in the media pen as they carefully vetted it. Lazenby also confirmed that the 'beep machine' had been in full-force as he introduced Hadjar's chat.
He said: "Isack Hadjar was extremely frustrated today. We are going to hear from him at some point but we have had to vet the interview because he was that upset with it."
Button, meanwhile, added: "Hadjar has been very emotional this weekend, hasn't he? I think the frustration is that he can see what Max [Verstappen] is able to do with the car and he's not able to do that at the moment."
As for Hadjar's interview, the French-Algerian vented his frustrations at Red Bull. He said: "Everything went wrong. First of all, the race starts - I did everything on my side. Clutch overdelivery.
"So yeah, completely out of my control again. It's really starting to p*** me off. It's not a nice feeling when you know you're going to drop the clutch and you don't know what you're going to have.
"Today was very poor. At first it was very strong, I kept extending. I had the pace of Kimi [Antonelli] toward those last couple of laps. I was quite confident and then I was blocked on a pit stop throttle map. It was just undriveable and that was it for me."
He added: "I've worked really hard on that race pace and today it showed. I was extremely comfortable on the soft, pushing them. And the car was behaving really well, apart from all the electronic downsides. I think everything was positive and in a world where we can fix our start, I think we can have a brilliant race."
Hadjar was not the only one fuming with Red Bull's issues over the course of the race, with his team-mate, Verstappen, also picking problem with radio problems as well as a poor start. He said during his post-race interview: "I didn't lose a position, so it wasn't that bad. It's normal. My start was normal, just consistently s***."
On radio issues, he added that he was unable to hear race engineer, Tom Hart. He said: "It's not the second time. It's already, I don't know how many times this year.
"Maybe we should just start communicating in sign language! It's probably cheaper as well. But yeah, it’s a disaster. It's really frustrating, to be honest."
Any hopes of Red Bull taking home a world championship seem to have been dashed, with Antonelli needing just a ninth-place finish in Mexico for the crown. Elsewhere, the Italian Mercedes man could be crowned victorious so long as George Russell or Lewis Hamilton don't win at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
