Nicolo Tresoldi has caught Arsenal's eye
Arsenal have reportedly identified Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi as a potential January signing, with the 22-year-old having previously come close to moving to Liverpool for family reasons.
His father, Emanuele, revealed that his wife's work in civil aviation nearly took the family to Merseyside. Instead, they relocated to Germany, where Tresoldi joined Hannover 96 as a teenager.
Emanuele told La Gazzetta dello Sport : "It all happened by chance. We have traveled a lot for my wife's job, who deals with civil aviation. At one point it seemed like we had to move to Liverpool.

"Instead, we had to go to the headquarters in Hanover, where Nicolo showed that he could be a footballer."
A move to England could now be on the cards. According to The Sun, Arsenal are monitoring Tresoldi amid uncertainty surrounding Viktor Gyokeres ' future.
Reports suggest the Sweden international wants to leave in January after struggling for regular game time under Mikel Arteta. His difficulties over the past year have prompted speculation about his future at the Emirates.
The reigning Premier League champions are understood to have a good relationship with Brugge, having signed Christos Tzolis from the Belgian club for £35million in the summer.

Tresoldi has scored nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions this season, including four across two Champions League matches. He was on target against Aston Villa in September and also scored in Brugge’s dramatic 4-3 victory over Inter Milan.
That form has reportedly put the Germany Under-21 international on Arsenal’s radar ahead of the January window. Brugge rejected a £30million offer from Roma in the summer, with reports suggesting his valuation has since climbed to around £42million.
Arsenal could face competition from AC Milan, who are also said to be keen. The Italian club may hold an advantage, with Tresoldi having supported them since childhood.
