India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the five-match ODI series against New Zealand after failing to regain full fitness from a hamstring injury. The BCCI confirmed on October 30 that the pacer needs more time to build his bowling workload before returning to competitive cricket.

India are currently taking on New Zealand in a five-match T20I series, with the visitors leading 3-0. The teams will then play five ODI matches from November 14 to 15. Krishna has taken 45 wickets in 25 ODIs at an average of 25.78 and an economy rate of 5.91, with his best figures of 4/12 against the West Indies in 2022.

Prasidh Krishna to Follow Fitness Pathway Before New Zealand Test Series

Prasidh Krishna sustained the hamstring injury on September 30 during the home series against the West Indies. The team management has withdrawn him from the ODI assignment to give him more time to recover and prepare for the two-match Test series, which begins on November 19.

The pacer is scheduled to undergo match simulations and fitness tests at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on November 1 and 2. If he clears the Return to Play assessment, he will join India A for their third and final four-day match against New Zealand A.

Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Kumar Reddy to Join India A Squad

Mohammed Siraj will join India A for the second four-day match against New Zealand A, starting October 31. The experienced pacer will feature alongside Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar and Mukesh Choudhary in the squad.

Siraj's inclusion will give him an opportunity to gain red-ball match practice ahead of the two-Test series against New Zealand, starting November 19. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy will remain with the senior ODI squad for the opening match against New Zealand on November 4.

The all-rounder will then join India A for the third and final four-day match against New Zealand A as part of his Test preparations. Reddy is expected to feature alongside Prasidh Krishna in the final four-day fixture, provided the pacer clears his Return to Play assessment.
