Kay Adams says Broncos will win Super Bowl if they make this major trade

Kay Adams thinks the Denver Broncos should send shockwaves through the NFL with a major trade before the deadline.

Could the Denver Broncos be in the market for a running back? Could general manager George Paton work up another blockbuster trade?

Kay Adams had NFL on Prime insider James Palmer on FanDuel TV’s Up and Adams show on Monday, and Palmer discussed a potential fire sale for the Indianapolis Colts after a disastrous loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans on Sunday. That loss led to the dismissal of general manager Chris Ballard on Monday.

Could that be just the first domino to fall in Indianapolis? Palmer talked about teams calling the Colts to check on the price of some of the team's stars. Of course, one of those players is running back Jonathan Taylor.

"Is anybody interested in Jonathan Taylor? People are interested in running backs," said Palmer on Up and Adams. That idea seemed to excite Adams, who initially threw out the name of the Seattle Seahawks before steering her thoughts towards Denver:

"Honestly, Sean (Payton) and George (Paton), go get yourself a Jonathan frickin' Taylor," Adams said. "Sean, listen to me. You know Sean, I know Sean, go get JT. If they get... Okay, if they go get JT, they're winning the Super Bowl, the Broncos, I'm saying it right now."

Palmer then retorted with a quip about how the team's quarterback would need to play better for that to happen.

Still, it's a tantalizing thought.

Could the Broncos trade for Jonathan Taylor?

Making trades in the NFL is not like playing the Madden video games; it's a lot more difficult than that. Having already parted with draft capital in the offseason to acquire Jaylen Waddle, the Broncos would need to tread carefully, and only if the Colts are even willing to part with Taylor.

Taylor's success in the league can't be denied; he's one of the best running backs of his generation. A second-round pick in 2020, Taylor has spent his entire career with the Colts, rushing for nearly 8,000 yards to this point. Still only 27 years old, he should still have a few years of solid productivity left in him, at the least.

But he wouldn't come easily. Not only would the Broncos have to part with future draft picks, but they would also have to take on Taylor's contract, which still has two years left on it after this season. He will have a salary cap number of $21 million in 2027 and $22 million in 2028, according to OverTheCap.com.

The Broncos could certainly use a player like Taylor to transform their rushing attack, but logistically, it seems like a complicated move that could restrict a lot of the team's future flexibility.
