Kay Adams feels her Super Bowl pick is looking good following Week 7. Adams has predicted that the Denver Broncos will meet the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl LXI and after the performance Bo Nix had against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, she says she feels "very good about it" on FanDuel TV’s Up and Adams Show.
Adams went on to say that the play of Nix reassured her that the Broncos are the best team in the AFC following his bounce-back performance against the Cardinals. After a week filled with scrutiny following his performance against the Seattle Seahawks, Nix played much better against Arizona, including breaking a Broncos all-time record in the process.
"The one question you have about the Broncos that is justified is: Is Bo okay, does he have it, is he confident, does he have that thing that he's going to go... and that's all I needed, that little box ticked, and I got that [Sunday] if I'm a Broncos fan," Adams said on Up and Adams. "He looked the part. He looked fearless, confident; he was fast, by the way and all you really needed to see... just that run, just him going for it, at this speed, all of your questions about Bo answered."
Adams is referring to Nix's 62-yard touchdown run in which he took off when he saw there was an opening and ended up running untouched to the end zone on the longest run by a quarterback in Broncos history.
Adams makes a good point about this particular play, highlighting the fact that the broken ankle suffered by Nix in last year's playoffs is not a lingering issue, as many have speculated. She also discussed how Nix being involved more as a runner has proven to open up the rest of his game in the past, and maybe that is something coach Sean Payton has looked at.
After a week in which Bo was dragged by the local and national media after looking about as bad as he could have against the Seahawks, it is refreshing to see members of the media, such as Adams, notice that Nix likely just had a bad day, rather than being incapable of playing the position, as some were suggesting.
After watching what the Seahawks did to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday night, more attention should probably be given to them just being an incredibly difficult defense to play against, rather than Nix having hit some sort of ceiling as a player.
