Cam Skattebo felt something in his hamstring on final run in OT

The Giants have a bye in Week 8 and that might be good news for running back Cam Skattebo.

Skattebo helped set up Devin Singletary’s game-winning touchdown run in overtime with a 42-yard jaunt through the Texans defense. It was the longest run of his career and it looked like he might have been able to pick up even more yardage, but he slid to a stop at the Houston 30-yard-line.

It looked like Skattebo did so on purpose, but he told Dan Graziano of ESPN that he actually went down because he felt something in his hamstring.

Skattebo will have a couple of weeks to heal before the Giants return for a Week 9 trip to Philadelphia and the team will be hoping he’s back to full strength as they try to maintain their lead in the NFC East.
