FIFA will visit Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakesh, Rabat and Tangier in November and December as part of the venue-selection process for the 2030 World Cup, the governing body announced on Tuesday.
A delegation representing FIFA’s key operational departments will inspect candidate stadiums and supporting infrastructure, assessing preparations and proposed operational plans against the tournament’s hosting requirements.
The delegation will meet local, regional and national authorities, stadium operators, transport and mobility stakeholders, accommodation providers and other key partners.
The inspections will inform FIFA’s final selection of host cities and stadiums. The organization also reserves the right to visit additional sites during the selection process.
The number and type of matches allocated to each venue will be determined only after the host cities have been confirmed, as part of the match-scheduling process. FIFA said further details on venue selection would be announced in due course.
The Moroccan inspections form part of a broader round of visits covering Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Madrid, San Sebastián, Zaragoza and Seville in Spain, as well as Lisbon and Porto in Portugal.
