Athletic Club winger Nico Williams says he turned down approaches from Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain because he believes he is at the club where he wants to be.
The 24-year-old Spain international became one of the most sought-after players in Europe after a series of impressive performances for both club and country.
Barcelona were widely considered the favourites to sign Williams during the summer of 2025. However, the winger surprised many by choosing instead to commit his long-term future to Athletic.
Williams confirmed after Athletic’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Getafe on Sunday that Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain had also tried to bring him to their clubs.
“Apart from Barca, I had offers from PSG and Arsenal, and I rejected them,” Williams told El Chiringuito TV.
“I am where I want to be. The decisions are made at home with my parents and my brother.”
