AN NFL referee got cleated and threw the penalty flag from the turf during a stunning moment between the Packers and Lions.
The Week 7 matchup between the Packers and Lions got heated during the third quarter.
The Packers and Lions matchup was relatively calm until a second-and-11 play during the third quarter.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw a pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was instantly wrapped up by Isaiah McDuffie.
The pass was whistled dead, and St. Brown started to get up and appeared to begin to run like it was still an active play.
The All-Pro wideout ran into the stomach of Devonte Wyatt, who picked him up and tackled him once more.
That caused St. Brown’s foot to be in the air and kick referee Terry Killens Jr., who ended up on the ground and threw the penalty flag while lying on his back.
Wyatt was assessed a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness, which didn’t sit well with Packers coach Matt LaFleur.
Regardless, NFL fans were left in hysterics over the referee throwing his flag from the ground.
“Bro threw that s*** to the roof,” one said on X.
