WWE Crowns New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on SmackDown
WWE SmackDown results

WWE’s Women’s Tag Team Championship picture changed on the October 23 episode of SmackDown, as Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley put their newly won titles on the line against Michin and B-Fab.

The challengers entered the contest looking to make their first championship opportunity count, but the finish took an unexpected turn.

Bliss and Paxley had captured the gold just over two weeks earlier by defeating Fatal Influence.

Their first title defense, however, proved to be a tougher test than expected, with outside involvement eventually playing a decisive role.

Michin and B-Fab win WWE Women’s Tag Team titles

The match began with B-Fab trading offense with Bliss before Paxley tagged in and helped the champions take control. Paxley hit a moonsault from the apron onto Michin on the outside, while Bliss followed up with a DDT and a crossbody from the top rope to keep the challengers under pressure.

Michin and B-Fab gradually fought their way back into the contest. Paxley attempted a 450 splash but missed when Michin moved out of the way, creating an opening for the challengers to turn the match around.

The decisive moment came when Paxley tried to set up her Cemetery Drive finisher. Michin avoided the move by grabbing the ropes, leaving Paxley vulnerable to interference from Jade Cargill, who struck her while the referee was distracted.

Michin immediately capitalized, connecting with the Styles Clash to secure the pinfall victory. The result crowned Michin and B-Fab as the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, bringing Bliss and Paxley’s reign to an abrupt end.

The title change is notable because Bliss and Paxley had only recently won the championships, leaving little time for their reign to develop. Cargill’s involvement also adds another layer to the victory, as the challengers benefited from help at a crucial moment rather than winning entirely on their own.

For Michin and B-Fab, the victory puts championship gold around their waists. For Bliss and Paxley, the loss raises questions about what comes next after such a short run at the top of the tag team division.
