Vince Russo has finally spoken about reports linking him to a potential WWE creative comeback, but the former head writer hasn’t provided the clarity many wrestling fans were waiting for.
Instead, Russo addressed the speculation on The Coach & Bro Show while directing his frustration toward the journalists covering the story.
The discussion follows reports that Russo had conversations with WWE President Nick Khan over the summer about a possible return to the company.
However, Vince Russo stopped short of confirming or denying whether those discussions took place.
Russo claimed that several people reporting on the story had failed to contact him before publishing their accounts. He specifically mentioned Conrad Thompson, James Romero, and Sean Sapp while insisting that he would share news directly when he was ready.
“None of those people contacted me or tried to contact me,” Russo said, adding that they all had his number. He also warned them against approaching him for a comment after the reports had already circulated.
The former WWE writer compared the situation to speculation surrounding his departure from Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW), explaining that he eventually addressed that situation when he felt ready.
“When I have something to say, I will say it! If there is nothing to say, I’m not gonna say anything,” he stated.
On the WWE speculation specifically, Russo remained firm that he had nothing to discuss at present. He added that his audience would be the first to hear from him if the situation changed.
Vince Russo also questioned the reporting process, drawing on his own background in journalism and television. “When you’re running with stories and you don’t contact the subject of those stories, bro, I’m sorry, you’re a hack,” he said.
Conrad Thompson had previously reported that Russo discussed a potential creative return with Khan, while PWInsider reported that the idea never progressed toward an official hire. Russo’s latest comments neither confirm those accounts nor rule out that conversations occurred.
Russo previously served as WWE’s head writer from 1997 to 1999, helping shape the Attitude Era before leaving for WCW. For now, his WWE future remains uncertain — and the ball is firmly in his court to provide any further answers.
