Black Maidens

Black Maidens will face Argentina in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco on Wednesday, 28 October.

The Black Maidens secured their place in the knockout stage after beating Canada 2-0 in their final Group C match to finish the group phase with four points.

Nana Joe Adarkwa’s side endured a difficult start to the tournament, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Norway in their opening game before staging an impressive comeback to draw 3-3 with Brazil.

Ghana then delivered a composed performance against Canada, securing victory to seal qualification for the last 16.

Their opponents, Argentina, topped their group after an impressive campaign and are expected to pose a stern challenge for the West African side.

However, Ghana will approach the encounter with renewed confidence following their recovery from the opening defeat and their strong finish to the group stage.

With a place in the quarter-finals at stake, the Black Maidens will be aiming to maintain their momentum and continue their quest for a successful campaign in Morocco.
