Final Group A Table After Morocco Lost 5-1 To Argentina And Germany Won 2-0

According to a report by ESPN on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the final Group A standings of the 2026 FIFA U 17 Women's World Cup have been confirmed following Argentina's 5-1 victory over hosts Morocco and Germany's 2-0 win against New Zealand.

The results marked the end of the group stage campaign, with Germany finishing first, Argentina taking second place, Morocco finishing third and New Zealand ending the group in fourth position.

Germany dominated Group A, winning all three matches to collect nine points. They scored eight goals and conceded three, finishing with a goal difference of plus five. In their final match against New Zealand, Laura Ernst opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time before Clara Choisy added a second goal in the 56th minute to secure a comfortable victory.

Argentina finished second with six points from three matches, recording two wins and one defeat. They scored eight goals and conceded three, also finishing with a goal difference of plus five.

Their 5-1 victory over Morocco proved crucial to their qualification for the knockout stage. Mercedes Díaz starred with a hat-trick, while Josefina Galarza and Julieta Aguilar also scored. Nesma Mouradi netted Morocco's only goal.

Morocco finished third with three points after winning one match and losing two. Despite opening their campaign with a convincing 4-0 victory over New Zealand, the hosts suffered defeats against Germany and Argentina. They scored seven goals and conceded nine, leaving them with a goal difference of minus two.

However, Morocco could still qualify for the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams, depending on results in the other groups.

New Zealand finished bottom of Group A without earning a point. They lost all three matches, failed to score and conceded eight goals.

The final standings confirm Germany and Argentina as the two teams to qualify automatically from Group A. Morocco must now wait for the remaining group results to determine whether their three points will be enough to secure a place in the knockout stage.

Germany's perfect record highlighted their strength, while Argentina's impressive victory over Morocco helped them recover from their opening defeat and advance to the next round.
