Port City FC claimed a dramatic 2–1 away victory over Karela United after Owusu Ansah scored twice in the closing stages, including an 89th-minute winner, to settle a contest that came alive during the final 15 minutes.

The opening 76 minutes were characterised by a tight battle, with neither side able to find the breakthrough. Karela United sought to use their home advantage to secure a positive result, while Port City remained patient as they waited for an opportunity to make their attacking efforts count.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 77th minute when Owusu Ansah found the net to give Port City the lead. The visitors appeared to be on course for all three points, but Karela responded in the 86th minute through Iddi Mahfuz, whose equaliser restored parity and threatened to deny Port City a valuable away victory.

Port City’s response was immediate. Just three minutes after Karela had levelled, Ansah struck again in the 89th minute to complete his brace and put the visitors back in front. The late goal proved decisive, allowing Port City to secure all three points in a dramatic finish that punished Karela for failing to hold on after their equaliser.

The victory keeps Port City FC in fourth place with 14 points, maintaining their position among the league’s leading sides. Karela United remain 14th on nine points, leaving them under pressure to improve their results and move away from the lower reaches of the table.

For Port City, Ansah’s clinical finishing proved the difference in a match where decisive moments emerged late. The win provides a significant boost to their campaign and keeps them in contention near the top of the standings, while Karela will be frustrated after conceding twice in the closing stages of a contest they had worked hard to keep level.
