Fluminense Football Club signed midfielder Pablo to a contract extension running through January 2029, the club announced on Monday, October 19, at the Vale das Laranjeiras training center in Xerém.
The 18-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on the deal during a ceremony at the club’s youth facility in Xerém. Pablo has been part of the club since 2019, when he was ten years old, and is a product of futsal.
“First of all, I want to thank God,” Pablo told club media. “I am grateful to Fluminense for giving me this moment. My family and I are very happy. I went through difficult times, but I am focused on my recovery to return to action as quickly as possible. May this be a new stage of victories. I have the expectation of achieving great goals wearing the tricolor shirt.”
Pablo earned wider prominence in June when he scored the goal in the final of the Copa Mitad del Mundo in Ecuador. His strike secured a 1-0 victory over Universidad Católica (CHI), sealing an undefeated tournament title for Fluminense’s youth side.
The midfielder stands out as a member of the “Moleques de Xerém” generation that powered the club’s youth divisions through 2023 and 2024, years in which the club recorded a record number of titles in its youth divisions.
Currently sidelined, Pablo is working through a recovery program at the Xerém facility. The extension guarantees his registration with the club through January 2029, giving the teenager stability as he targets a return to action.
