Kapor insists Hearts of Oak will maintain playing philosophy against Heart of Lions

Hearts of Oak head coach Nebojsa Kapor has reaffirmed his commitment to the club’s playing philosophy ahead of Sunday’s Ghana Premier League encounter against Heart of Lions, insisting his side will not abandon its approach despite the threat posed by their opponents.

The Phobians will host Heart of Lions at the University of Ghana Stadium on Matchday 10, hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to newly promoted Debibi United.

Kapor acknowledged the quality of Heart of Lions, revealing that his technical team has closely monitored their recent performances and gathered enough information to prepare for the contest.

“This team is a very good side, and we are aware of this. We also have a lot of information about this team through their last games in the Premier League,” he said.

The Serbian tactician explained that although Hearts will study their opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, the team must remain committed to its established identity, particularly in controlling matches and creating opportunities.

“We are a club that is going with serious stability in the game and seriously turning situations to our side, also controlling the game. So we cannot change our general things,” he added.

Hearts of Oak will be eager to return to winning ways after their defeat at Debibi Presby Park brought an end to a three-match winning streak.

The Phobians currently occupy third position on the league table, just one point behind leaders Medeama, and will view Sunday’s home fixture as an opportunity to keep pace with the teams above them.

Heart of Lions, meanwhile, arrive in Accra with renewed confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over Bechem United, a result that ended their three-match winless run.

With both sides seeking valuable points for different reasons, Sunday’s encounter promises to be a competitive contest as Kapor looks to guide Hearts back to winning ways without compromising the team’s playing philosophy.
