FC AshantiGold 04 and Asante Kotoko played out a pulsating 1-1 draw at the Len Clay Stadium in 8 Ghana Premier League match-week 8.

The Miners took the lead just before half-time through Samuel Fosu Boateng, whose long-range effort in the 41st minute took a deflection off Joseph Amoah on its way into the net.

Kotoko responded after the break and restored parity in the 62nd minute when left-back Patrick Asiedu struck a powerful free-kick to bring the Porcupine Warriors back on level terms.

Both sides were unable to find a winner in the remaining minutes, forcing them to settle for a point each in the encounter.

The draw means AshantiGold 04 are now winless in their last two matches and will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Swedru to face All Blacks in their next league fixture.

Asante Kotoko, meanwhile, have extended their unbeaten run to two matches and will next host Medeama in Tarkwa, where they face a challenging test against the reigning league champions.
