Ghana's Marvin Senaya returns to action on the pitch after long-time injury layoff

The 25-year-old defender, who ruptured his hamstring during international duty with the four-time African champions in this year's Mundial, has finally returned to the pitch after spending over four months on the sidelines

Ghana's Marvin Senaya has made his injury return from a hamstring tear during Ghana's 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match against Colombia on July 3, 2026.

The former FC Lausanne-Sport right-back loanee made his first start of the current campaign for AJ Auxerre in their 5-1 away drubbing of RC Strasbourg in the Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The tough-tackling full-back, who was introduced into the game on the 63rd-minute, has now taken in one appearance for Les Ajaïstes and would hope to stay fit for much game time for the rest of the 2026-27 football season.

On the international scene, the Saint-Maurice-born native has won 6 caps for the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars so far in his international football career since switching allegiances from France to Ghana on March 27, 2026.
