Accra Hearts of Oak have begun negotiations with experienced Ghanaian midfielder Maxwell Baakoh as they seek to reinforce their squad.
The 31-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Algerian side MC Oran, where he spent two seasons following his transfer from USM Khenchela in January 2024.
A move to Hearts would mark Baakoh's return to the Ghana Premier League after several years abroad. The midfielder previously featured for WA All Stars, Karela United and Asante Kotoko before embarking on spells with Egypt's Ceramica Cleopatra, Libya's Al-Madina, Jordan's Sahab SC and Algerian clubs USM Khenchela and MC Oran.
Known for his creativity, dribbling ability and versatility in attacking midfield and wide positions, Baakoh is viewed as an experienced option who could strengthen Hearts' squad.
Negotiations between the Phobians and the former Kotoko playmaker are ongoing, with the club hoping to reach an agreement in the coming days.
