Juventus eye Italo-Ghanaian teenager Samuel Wiafe in potential transfer raid

Juventus are reportedly keeping an eye on 18-year-old midfielder Samuel Wiafe, who is eligible to play for Italy or Ghana and is making a name for himself in Italian football.

The Ghana-born midfielder moved to Italy at the age of 12 and now plays for Genoa in Serie A. His strong start in senior football has attracted attention and raised the possibility of a move to one of Italy’s biggest clubs.

Wiafe joined Genoa from Modena in July for a reported €3 million fee and has already featured in three Serie A matches and two Coppa Italia games this season. He has also registered one assist in the domestic cup competition.

His rise has been rapid. After progressing through Modena’s youth ranks, Wiafe earned promotion to the club’s senior team in February 2026 before securing his move to Genoa during the summer transfer window.

Despite his young age, the central midfielder has started getting more chances to play for the first team. He has started most of Genoa’s Serie A games this season and played 28% of the team’s total league minutes.

Wiafe has also started half of Genoa’s Coppa Italia matches, making two appearances and providing an assist as he continues to gain experience at the highest level of Italian football.

Juventus’ reported interest could put the teenager’s future in the spotlight, although there is no indication that a transfer agreement has been reached between the two Serie A clubs.

Wiafe is currently valued at around €2.5 million, while his contract with Genoa runs until June 30, 2030. That long-term deal gives Genoa a strong position should interest in the youngster develop into a formal transfer approach.

For now, Wiafe remains a Genoa player, with any potential move to Juventus still at the rumour stage.
