Chelsea Seek Derby Bragging Rights Over Tottenham
Chelsea Seek Derby Bragging Rights Over Tottenham

Chelsea will aim to continue their good run of form when they host Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby, with the visitors hoping to end their poor record against their city rivals.

Chelsea returned to the Premier League top four with a 2-0 victory over Everton last week.

The win also ended their run of 23 league matches without a clean sheet.

Coach Xabi Alonso will now hope to guide the Blues to three consecutive league victories for the first time since February.

Chelsea have been strong at Stamford Bridge, where they are unbeaten in their last six matches, winning five and drawing one.

They have also enjoyed a good record in London derbies at home, losing only once in their last 16 Premier League matches against fellow London clubs.

Tottenham, meanwhile, finally recorded their first league win of the season after beating newly promoted Coventry City 3-1 on Monday.

The victory came in their seventh attempt and lifted some of the pressure on coach Roberto De Zerbi, who said he was delighted to see his side move out of the relegation zone.

However, Tottenham face a difficult task against Chelsea, having struggled in away matches this season.

They have managed only two goals in four competitive away games, drawing two and losing two. Another defeat would also see Spurs lose seven consecutive London derbies in the Premier League for the first time in their history.

Chelsea have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning their last six Premier League meetings with Tottenham.
