UCL : Man United count on Mbeumo and Baleba to revive campaign

Manchester United face a crucial Champions League test against AS Roma as they look to end a worrying run of results. With pressure mounting, Cameroonian internationals Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba could play important roles in the Red Devils’ bid to turn their season around.

United have struggled to maintain their momentum since opening their European campaign with a 4-0 victory over Sabah. Subsequent defeats against Atlético Madrid (2-0) and Como (4-1) have complicated their qualification hopes. The clash with Roma therefore represents an important opportunity to collect points and move closer to the top eight, which guarantees direct qualification for the round of 16.

However, the English side must also overcome its domestic struggles after losing 2-0 away to Chelsea last Saturday. According to the figures provided, United have now gone nine matches without a victory across all competitions.

In this difficult context, Mbeumo and Baleba could provide the energy United desperately need. Mbeumo’s pace, movement and attacking qualities could trouble Roma’s defence, while Baleba’s physical presence, pressing and ability to recover possession could help United regain control of midfield. Both Cameroonians will need to deliver influential performances if the Red Devils hope to end their disappointing run. More than a European fixture, this encounter represents an opportunity for United to restore confidence, revive their Champions League ambitions and give their supporters reasons for optimism.
